About The Hotel

Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

 At Practice Hospitality, the Restaurant Lead is at the heart of delivering exceptional guest experiences. You’ll oversee daily restaurant operations, guide and inspire the team, and ensure every shift runs smoothly.

From scheduling staff to supporting the F&B Manager and Director of Food & Beverage, you’ll play a key role in keeping the restaurant organized, efficient, and full of energy. This is the perfect opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves making every guest interaction memorable.

Responsibilities

  • Support management in staff performance matters, including employee reviews, corrective actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.

  • Provide administrative support for front-of-house operations, including scheduling, payroll, reservations, inventory, receiving, and personnel-related matters.

  • Assist in training, supervising, counseling, and evaluating restaurant staff to ensure efficient restaurant operations. Direct staff in their work assignments.

  • Ensure the restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for guests and employees. Ensure all equipment is in working order. Conduct visual inspections and take corrective action to maintain an appealing and attractive environment for guests. Provide guidance for improvement and implement necessary adjustments. Oversee work orders to ensure timely repairs and maintenance of the facility.

  • Assist with overall restaurant operations, including Point of Sale transactions, expediting, re-stocking, quality control, staff breaks, and performance monitoring.

  • Document inventory usage, forecast needs, and monitor supplies to ensure the restaurant is stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments, and other necessary items. Oversee the setup of dining and service areas.

  • Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

  • Communicate expectations to servers and restaurant staff to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to standards.

  • Interact with guests and team members, providing real-time feedback to staff to maintain quality service. Work with management to investigate and resolve guest concerns.

  • Ensure restaurants are sanitized, cleaned, stocked, and properly set up for opening, and maintain standards throughout the shift.

  • Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.

  • Support special events, promotions, and holiday operations, contributing to a vibrant guest experience.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Some High School education or equivalent
  • 1+ year previous experience in a food service team lead capacity or leadership role
  •  1+ year utilizing Point-of-Sale (POS) technology
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as they apply to cash handling
  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations and preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of beverage operations and wines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Proven teamwork
  • Projects professional image that inspires trust and confidence
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands, including nights, weekends, and Holidays as needed
  • Successful completion of criminal background check

  • Serve-Safe and/or TIPS certification

Job Type: Full Time- Non-Exempt

Compensation: $13.00 per hour plus tips
