About The Hotel
Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces and guestrooms are all newly renovated.
Job Role
As a Barista, you are responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service, and clean-up of the coffee bar area while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and the achievement/maintenance of company standards and profit maximization.
Responsibilities:
- Make and serve drinks to guests following established guidelines, procedures, and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
- Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner, maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ring guest checks: collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
- Complete requisitions and supply lists.
- Ensure established parts are maintained.
- Communicates with guests to take food and beverage orders
- Prepares customer food and beverage orders
- Provides outstanding customer service and engage in suggestive selling
- Maintains equipment, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots breakdowns and/or calls for repairs
- Assists in merchandising functions including display and store design, inventory receiving, stocking, and merchandise pricing\
- Performs cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting.
- Ensures the outlet adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service
- Ensures the daily operation of the outlet adheres to operating procedure guidelines
- Perform all side work duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation: $12.00 plus tips
Requirements
Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
Experience: Three to six months in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.

Skills and Abilities:
- Able to mix drinks correctly.
- Provide exceptional service to all guests.
- Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands.
- Proven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and procedures
- Able to multitask and handle all the equipment, especially in a bar that uses modern technology.
- Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
- Able to read, speak, and understand English.
- Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
