About The Hotel
Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.
Job Role
The Overnight Valet Attendant is responsible for delivering an exceptional luxury guest experience from arrival through departure. As one of the first and last team members our guests encounter, this role serves as a brand ambassador by providing warm, personalized, and attentive service while safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles. This position also assists with overnight Front Office operations, lobby presentation, luggage assistance, and hotel security awareness to ensure every guest enjoys an outstanding stay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Professionally greet customers upon arrival, offering a friendly and courteous welcome.
- Enthusiastically greet all guests and members of the public as they enter and exit the hotel, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Mining Exchange Hotel by demonstrating exceptional hospitality during every guest interaction.
- Surprise and delight guests by providing personalized service that elevates their stay from great to amazing.
- Assist guests with luggage, directions, hotel information, local attractions, transportation, and recommendations.
- Open vehicle and hotel doors whenever possible to provide a luxury arrival and departure experience.
- Promptly respond to guest requests and resolve concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Valet Operations
- Safely drive, park, and retrieve guest vehicles in designated parking areas.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with hotel insurance requirements.
- Accurately track vehicle locations and corresponding valet tickets.
- Conduct vehicle inspections when required and report any damage immediately.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage.
- Ensure all guest vehicles are handled with the utmost care and professionalism.
Luggage Services
- Accurately check, tag, store, and retrieve luggage for early arrivals, late departures, and luggage storage requests.
- Maintain organization and security of all stored luggage.
Lobby & Hotel Presentation
- When not assisting guests or completing administrative duties, proactively step out from behind the desk to:
- Engage with guests in the lobby.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lobby areas.
- Ensure furniture is properly arranged.
- Monitor lobby appearance and presentation.
- Curate the lobby atmosphere by monitoring lighting, music levels, cleanliness, and overall guest comfort.
- Ensure the valet stand, porte cochere, parking areas, and lobby remain clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Safety & Security
- Follow all key control procedures with extreme attention to detail.
- Protect guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Understand and follow all hotel emergency response and life safety procedures.
- Complete Incident Reports accurately and promptly when necessary.
- Report unsafe conditions, suspicious activity, or maintenance concerns immediately.
- Conduct overnight property awareness rounds as directed.
Operations
- Follow all Front Office procedures, hotel service standards, and luxury hospitality expectations.
- Complete all daily checklists, shift reports, and assigned administrative tasks.
- Assist other hotel departments as business needs require.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Previous valet, luxury hospitality, hotel, or guest service experience preferred.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Experience driving both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing:
- Pre-employment drug screening.
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review with an acceptable driving history.
- Criminal background check, consistent with applicable law.
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9).

- Ability to maneuver vehicles safely and confidently in various traffic conditions.

- Flexible schedule, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally run to retrieve guest vehicles promptly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs.
- Lift and carry luggage weighing up to 60–80 pounds.
- Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequently enter and exit a variety of vehicles, including luxury SUVs, sedans, electric vehicles, and trucks.
