About The Hotel

Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

The Lead Barista inspires staff, leads the daily operations of a Blk Mgk, and ensures areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. The Lead Barista is responsible for standards' establishment, staff training, schedule/resource coordination, workflow inspection, inventory maintenance and equipment supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and actively participate in the day-to-day operations of barista
  • Ensure physical atmosphere and cleanliness of outlet, furnishings, and workstations
  • Provides a pleasant, professional, and efficient atmosphere for team members and guests
  • Monitor food quality and service level, ensuring high quality efficient and timely service
  • Resolves and coaches' team members as needed, partnering with immediate supervisor 
  • Maintains the service standards of excellence
  • Assists with recruiting, training, testing, and maintaining updated training manuals
  • Assists with monitoring payroll and revenue daily
  • Assists with ordering, organizing and inventory control of all products
  • Reads and responds to emails daily
  • Responds proactively to team member and guest concerns
  • Answers and responds to phone messages and emails
  • Attends and conducts daily staff meetings
  • Available to work various hours and shifts dictated by needs of the operation
  • Assists the outlet manager in training and developing of staff for potential career advancement
  • Assists in the scheduling of staff to ensure operational and financial objectives are met
  • Aides in the performance review process by providing feedback to management on staff and delivering feedback and/or reviews, as requested
  • Responsible for interaction with customers to take food and beverage orders, process via Point of Sale system, and preparing customer orders
  • Assists in balancing cash registers and daily financial reports
  • Maintains food and beverage readiness by notifying employees of service standards, ensuring adequate supply and food inventory levels, and keeping equipment operating by troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or calling for repair
  • Perform all side work duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $16.16 plus tips

Requirements

Education: High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • One (1) year supervisory experience
  • Barista experience preferred
  • Computer literate and Point-of-Sale POS Proficient

Skills and Abilities: 

  •  Provide exceptional service to all guests.  
  • Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands.
  • Proven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and procedures
  • Able to multitask and handle all the equipment, especially in a bar that uses modern technology.  
  • Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
  •  Able to read, speak, and understand English.  
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
